Tonight I found a new, unexpected, way to use a butter knife! When I got home from work today, still recovering from a virus or something, we found that our puppy had an accident on the living room carpet. Oh, but not just your average day accident, we realized that our puppy was not properly de-wormed by the breeder (though his records show he was finished with his treatments). Yep, you guessed it!
So, in my paranoia with three small children, what did I do? Of course, we got the carpet cleaner out to clean every carpet in the house, as well as Lysol every surface and clean every sheet and pillow case around.
While doing everything we could to corral the children into one room while we performed the "flight of the bumblebee" to clean, clean, clean I think to myself, what is the worse that can happen? And yes, there are some terrible things that I thought of.
In record time, I finish all of the bedroom carpets and the living room. I get to the office and look down to realize that my steam cleaner brushes are not moving. The Mrs. Fix-It I am, I empty the cleaner and flip it over to find dog hair has clogged the brushes. I look up at Tim (my husband) and smile to say, "Grab me a butter knife, please."
15 minutes later, we're back in business! Clean, clean, clean... and done. Now, the next hurdle: try to explain to the children why the dogs are not allowed to sleep in their beds with them tonight and why Bogart is not home for most of the day tomorrow.
This sure was, and will continue to be, an interesting evening.
Butter Knife Use #2: Use to remove dog hair from clogged steam cleaner brushes.
